Capital - regular

Capital-regular is a furniture collection for Cultural Station Seoul 284, a design museum located in the former Seoul Central Station which was built in 1925 and was the main hub of Korean modern history and business. I wanted to create furniture that would share the deep historical context of the building. For that reason, I designed Capital-regular to look like a natural part of the building rather than drawing attention to the furniture itself. The outlines are simplified shapes of the building’s architectural elements. This work invokes the building’s history by reimagining an old train station bench in a modern way.
