Stepping Stone

This is a carpet work with the motif of a stepping stone in the garden of a traditional Korean house. It consists of 12 carpets of various shapes and sizes with a long side not exceeding 1 meter.

A natural stone used as a stepping stone, the shape of the stone that finally has a purpose, takes its shape through numerous coincidences or intentions caused by nature and human. I designed the carpet (Stepping Stone) by repeating the process of breaking and shearing in the hope that the shape of the carpet, which serves as the floor of the space we live in, will also resemble the appearance of nature.
